Colorful Cross Stitch Quilt Block

About this design

This colorful cross stitch quilt block embroidery design recreates the look of a classic patchwork square entirely in x-shaped cross stitches. At the center, a pinwheel star radiates outward in cobalt blue, grass green and golden yellow triangles, anchored by a small magenta and pink diamond hub. Four corner blocks each hold a bright yellow square framing a red or magenta diamond, and the whole motif is enclosed by a stepped multicolor border of blue, green, magenta and red stitches with tiny crossed accents at each side. The palette is deliberately cheerful and high-contrast, mixing primary blue, red and yellow with fresh green and hot pink against an open cream background, so the geometry stays crisp even at smaller stitch-out sizes. Because the design is square and self-contained, it works beautifully as a single hooped block or repeated in a grid, a row or a border for larger projects. Try it on sampler pillows and cushion covers, quilt labels and patchwork panels, table runners, placemats, coasters, tote bags, aprons, pot holders, tea towels, denim jackets, sewing machine covers, needlework bags and framed hoop art. It also stitches up as a thoughtful handmade gift for quilters, cross stitch lovers and crafters, ideal for housewarmings, Mother's Day, birthdays, Christmas, anniversaries, wedding showers and teacher or thank-you gifts. Compatible with popular embroidery machine formats including DST, PES, EXP, JEF, VP3, HUS, XXX, PEC, and more.
