Purple and Green Cross Stitch Quilt Block

About this design

This purple and green cross stitch quilt block embroidery design captures the charm of a hand-pieced patchwork square rendered entirely in x-shaped cross stitches. A pinwheel star spins out from the center in bold purple, grass green and golden yellow triangles, anchored by a small red and pink diamond hub. Each of the four corners holds a purple-framed yellow square set with a bright red diamond, while a stepped golden border with dark brown corner and midpoint accents frames the whole motif. The palette pairs rich violet and fresh green with warm yellow and pops of red against an open cream background, giving the geometry a lively folk-art feel that stays crisp even at smaller stitch-out sizes. Being square and self-contained, the design works beautifully as a single hooped block or repeated in a grid, row or border for larger projects. Try it on sampler pillows and cushion covers, quilt labels and patchwork panels, table runners, placemats, coasters, tote bags, aprons, pot holders, tea towels, denim jackets, sewing machine covers, needlework bags and framed hoop art. It also makes a thoughtful handmade gift for quilters, cross stitch lovers and crafters, perfect for housewarmings, Mother's Day, birthdays, Christmas, anniversaries, wedding showers and teacher or thank-you gifts. Compatible with popular embroidery machine formats including DST, PES, EXP, JEF, VP3, HUS, XXX, PEC, and more.
